Fascinating how our views are wildly different on both this and our release schedules.
I like 'album' and 'EP' in reference to my work so all of my releases thus far can be classified as one or the other.
I also make my releases a slow(er) burn type of thing; this is only partially by choice (school's a bit of a limiter). There was one time (April-November 2014) where I tried to keep putting stuff out but I realized it wasn't sustainable so I took more time with the last two things I released (especially Elsewise, which took the better part of 2015 to make).
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

*maintains princess composure, which is a shame because Jane really deserves to be tripped on her way out of the room*
Formats I have seen albums in: CD/CDr (5", 3"; single-sided double-sided); vinyl (6", 7", 8", 10", 12", 13"; factory-pressed, lathe-cut); shellac; acetate/dubplate; cassette (20, 30, 46, 60, 74, 90, 120); eight-track tape; DAT; minidisc; repurposed CD to be played like a vinyl record.
Funny, I've heard of DCC, but no albums released in that format. I have definitely seen a few specific records in DAT and MD, baffling as that is, but DCC is fairly rare.
There's a website where you can send them CDs to make into singles, but I would have to look it up again. One of Nautical Almanac's singles was done this way.
man imagine an alternate universe where that somehow became the dominant form of analog recording. Even shellac has to be easier to work with than that garbage.
tho it'd be a good idea for like a D&D setting or something.

@Anonus
i also thought "LP" meant vinyl
this must be the most win one
I don't think Black Pants ever put the soundtrack in such a form but if it did exist I'd hunt down a Walkman for it alone.
