  There are a few good points in that article, but they end up getting lost in a soup of "I am shocked, shocked that a big-budget Hollywood tentpole may actually lean somewhat to the right". I don't think anyone's going to drop everything and start oppressing minorities just because of Star Wars; indeed, complaining about that while handwaving (or outright ignoring) all of the actual fascist propaganda that's being spewed out by various people these days isn't a good look :P

  Star Wars in its Campbell-ness by design hits at a lot of things (more or less) fundamentally appealing to people. The unfortunate side effect is that sometimes the wrong people like it. It happens.
