Maybe it's just because I'm unused to the concept of Columbia/TriStar/etc. being separated from the Sony brand, but I'd always figured that the movie division of the company was one of its tentpole businesses, alongside their consumer electronics/PlayStation and insurance divisions.

Also, SPE is a big revenue driver, but they are awful at managing it. But it's still making money, as opposed to Sony's "main" businesses! Fucking idiots.

I don't know what's wrong over there. A lot of people say Sony's refusal to sell SPE is a Japanese thing, and maybe it is, but Sony in general just feels really stagnant to me.
