I have a desire to watch it and I'm not sure why given that I don't speak Japanese.

Because the cultural reference points are frequently different enough to make even on-the-nose or cliché things over there at least marginally interesting over here.

well, I said to ask the person who does the raws for over-time because the fansubbers have some stream of japanese tv that they use to get tokusatsu shows from. i think gustavaum is the guy you want?

My sister used to have some VHS tapes of Japanese TV, commercials and everything, it was pretty weird I think.

But this was 10+ years ago and who has VHS players now

Japanese TV is delightfully weird.

Also yes I watch Super Sentai too. "Sentai" is a really generic term.
