  • Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
squid: This might seem weird, but I'm actually afraid of lucid dreaming. I'm not really able to take my mind off things easily, and when I'm nervous, there's a chance I'll start fixating on things that make me feel even worse. As such, a lucid dream could easily become a lucid nightmare, if that makes any sense.

  • This is pretty much perfect.

My dreams are rarely violent. Mostly just weird. I wander around in mazes a lot.

I've only had two particularly violent dreams that I can recall. Both involved me attempting to murder someone...

    I seldom remember my dreams.

AFAIK, they are rarely violent.  When they are, it's other people being violent, sometimes towards me, sometimes towards other people.

I've only had 2 violent dreams that I can remember, and both times, it was fantasy violence directed towards me by completely made-up people. Usually, the most threatening thing that happens in my dreams is people yelling at each other.

There is one dream-related thing I'm actually kind of curious about. I've never had a dream where I've been turned into an animal or a monster or anything like that. It's not particularly common, I know, but am I weird for never having had one in 19 years thus far?

I can't remember having any transformation dreams.

I love transformation dreams....but never had one. :(

I'm usually human in my dreams, but I'm not always me.

I don't remember ever undergoing an actual transformation, but sometimes I'm one thing and later a different thing.

Yay I'm not weird... at least not in this aspect.

Actually, correction to my earlier post: I can think of like one or two times when people have been violent in my dreams.  It's more often animals, usually carnivores or swarm insects.

I can't have had more than one or two actual nightmares in my life.
  • I sometimes have weird, pseudo-violent dreams (there is what I could loosely term "surreal gore" sometimes), but actual, physical violence is rare.

More often than not I'm female in my dreams. Which, yeah, I like.

    "This is pretty much perfect."

    Yes yes it is.

As for my dreams it can go from me laying on a beach in swim trunks and a Hawaiian shirt to me suddenly being in Gotham city and wondering how I there. Still in the swim trunks, mind you.

The only violent dreams I remember was one where I was in WWII and my leg got blown off by a landmine and one where I dreamed I was part of the Sopranos and I got shot.
And on that note, it is time for me to make another dream. See you tomorrow afternoon.

    Good night Gator.

The two violent dreams I can remember are the ones where I was a 12-year-old who tried to murder a librarian over some Peanut M&M's and the one where I beat the crap out of an intruder who tried to attack my sister. At least the latter was self-defense...
  • Later, Gator.

And I just realized I actually used said that as soon as I typed it. :/

    No it isn't.
  • Y'know the more I read about the superhero comicbook industry, the more I am convinced that I should never even attempt to get into it.

Yes, manga is weird and often has strange undertones, but discounting hentai, I think you'd be a bit hard pressed to find a mangaka who'd say

I never used the word 'rape,' I just said it was nonconsensual.

Okay! Well thanks for clearing that up.

I'm probably just being unfair here, or something. But yeesh.

  • I'm a loser. Also, Creeper. And a woman.
    Bleh. Bad day today. :/

    Anyway, how is everyone?

Spoilered for those who would rather not know: it was Devin Grayson talking about a controversial Nightwing storyline.

It frankly depresses me that an adult with a modern education could even say something so stupid.

After reading that article, Yikes. Still if you're interested in taking a recommendation for a decent introduction to superhero comics Spainy, I'd recommend the Cable and Deadpool series. While I wouldn't call great by any means, it's got decent writing and a good mix of humor and more dramatic moments. Plus for the most part it can stand on its own without knowing all the backstory for the characters, though it does help to know the backstory. There's also Joe Kelly's run on Deadpool.

Speaking of Deadpool, I really wish the TVT article for him was a non self-demonstrating article. Maybe I'll get around to making one when the semester is over.

I'm not really into comics, but I liked Watchmen.  It was pretty good.
