I'm not sure why remembering rotary phones would make your childhood better.
Mine wasn't awesome.
It wasn't the worst, but it wasn't the greatest neither.
And I remember rotary phones really well.
TBH I don't feel superior to people younger than me not knowing stuff, it's just change. There's shit my parents saw that I have no clue about. Change is just fascinating.

How old are you if you don't mind my asking? (If you do, feel free to just not answer, it's totally understandable)

it's interesting, but it's also kind of sad, to me

change is uncomfortable, you have to adjust
There's also the fact that these things just being gone and forgotten, someone spent perhaps their entire lives creating or maintaining or making a living off and it's just gone.

Yes. It's the death of experiences.
Of course, now there are new inventions and new experiences to be had, but it's still sad.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Speaking of old technology being appealing
Part of me really hopes that someday i can own a fixed four-way traffic signal
But they go for like $500-1000 and I worry there will never come a time in my life when I'll just have that much to spend on memorabilia

Four-ways always appealed to me, in part, because that's the way traffic signals are often depicted in cartoons and the like

I wish my boyfriend were present
Because cuddling with him can be quite pleasant, in my experience
My partner and I did a goth/industrial/darkwave show for about seven years, from 1998 through 2005 or so. Until she got in an altercation with an obnoxious individual and sprayed them with Lysol and got thrown out for assault.

Industrial isn't really my kinda music, but that's cool regardless.
I've thought about doing radio, but....I dunno.
There's a station at LCCC (the school I go to) but I just don't know if I'd be able to commit to it.

Always

You get to spin it around and it turns and it's kind of satisfying?
