I want to say this is by Maximum The Hormone but that's only because that's the only Japanese Rap-Funk-Metal band I know of, and there are a surprising amount of those.
Maybe? I was never anywhere near this bad, even in middle school I had a couple friends (and I went to a Catholic school, so it's not like there were a ton of people there to befriend in the first place), and in high school I certainly had more than Tomoko does (which appears to be, erm, none).
Granted I have always been a very awkward overly self-aware person so I suppose I can relate on some level, but it's mostly just uncomfortable in a more general way I think.
This is not the first anime of this type I've seen, however.
I have to commend the VA here. I don't think I've ever heard the perpetual grey cloud attitude more accurately represented in speech, and I don't even speak the language.
More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
Everyone Has Standards: In chapter 19 Tomoko briefly considers eating her lunch in the bathroom during the lunch break, but ultimately decides against it, stating that she hasn't become that much of a loser yet.
The authors' previous manga, Choku, began with the main character eating lunch in the bathroom.
Eating lunch in the bathroom... this is uncomfortably accurate. o_o
I have kept up with the plot of Losergirl-chan via summaries over the years, but it's just too uncomfortable to actually watch (or, well, read. The manga's been running far longer than the show).
it's like i had never heard of it and you peeps mention it and now i look on my dash and there are like three posts on it scrolling through the first page

It's Not My Fault I'm not Popular / No Matter How You Look At It It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular
probably better known by /a/'s nickname for it. Losergirl-chan.
I am watching it right now. Through totally legal means on the Crunchyroll account I absolutely don't not have because Premium is bullshit.
of course this show's theme song is heavy metal.

This is interesting.
Tomoko is, in some ways, the perfect embodiment of the internet age.
