Alphie (George Gilmour) and Bibi (Catherine Mary Stewart), two youths from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in Canada, travel to America to take part in the 1994 Worldvision Song Festival. Despite being the most talented performers, they are beaten by BIM (Boogalow International Music) and its leader, Mr. Boogalow (Vladek Sheybal), who use underhanded tactics to secure a victory. The duo are approached by Mr. Boogalow to sign to his music label, but soon discover the darker side of the music industry. Bibi is caught up in the wild lifestyle BIM offers, while Alphie risks his life to free her from the company's evil clutches. He eventually convinces her to run away with him and the pair live as hippies for a year (and produce a child) before being tracked down by Mr. Boogalow who insists Bibi owes him ten million dollars. However, the two are saved by the Rapture, and all good souls are taken away by Mr. Topps (aka God).

I've realized that I'm somewhat like that too, I tend to enjoy PAIN when I play video games

For me it is just trying to create a beautiful performance, but I have a very high tolerance for punishment, and even when I do get frustrated I keep playing anyway.

I do know how that feels too

There are certain games where you just feel such a rush when every maneuver is executed perfectly, every enemy falls at your feet...

Apparently he showed up in that thread a week ago.

For the first time in a year.

    Interesting.

I doubt it. His first post after returning was to express amusement at all the shit that was being flipped over a "controversial" turn of events in that particular lousy fan-fic.

Fun fact: British people are actually a rare breed of landgoing fish. Like most fish, they are unsuited to temperature extremes, and as such, if a Britfish is taken outside of a very specific temperature range, they will die. Or at least become irritated.

Woody leaned against the tunnel wall and sighed deeply.

“You better listen up because I’m not going to repeat myself.”

“Understood.” I said as I waited to hear what he had to say.

“Rodney we are from a different world, and we are not human.”

“What the hell are you talking about?” I replied, realizing that the old engineer had gotten on a whole new level of weird.

“Listen! There is a place that co-exists within an amusement park, It [sic] is known as Amusement Park Between. Where the rides have control, were [sic] the impossible becomes possible, and the explainable becomes unexplainable.” Woody replied disgusted, his ice like eyes suddenly getting darker.

    “Is this for real Woody?

“First of all it’s not Woody – its [sic] Thunderbark.” He said as he stood there stone still while he barely breathed. He then dipped his head low, letting his long hair drape over his shoulders. The coaster engineer simply stared down, his eyes growing darker still.

    2. You believe in religion. All religion is mythology. It’s just stuff humans made up and told their descendants not to question. Believing something that isn’t true and refusing to consider the evidence is the definition of a blind follower. Don’t get mad at me for calling people who worship mythology sheeple, get mad at Jesus for comparing himself to a shepherd. I’m also not saying that being an atheist makes you smart and independent. There are plenty of pop atheists who have rejected religion just because it’s trendy, and that makes them sheeple as well.

He was one of the TVT old guard. Very intelligent and well-spoken, but with a reputation for being extremely serious. Made one or two appearances in the Trash Heap early on in the thread's existence, basically to express that he was cool with nonsense posting as long as it was kept out of on-topic threads. Vanished over a year ago; reemerged a week ago.
  • Oh. I thought he was a guy you all disliked.

Ah, yes, the "Christianity is the only religion" atheist that ignores dozens of dozens of other religions because they're not as prevalent where they live.

#9 did get me to look at the Nielsen ratings. Nearly every other non-racial/ethnic division is filled with sports or reality TV, with one or two actual shows filling in the cracks (except for Big Bang Theory, which can take up three slots in a single division). That's a bit worrying.

It was amusing to see that the leading show among African-Americans is a sci-fi show based on a Stephen King novel. Also, we watch slightly less reality television and more crime dramas.

Summer filler; it doesn't seem to account for the regular TV season or cable networks

i didn't know it was there

Despite this video being a parody (not that's anything wrong), it's right about reviewers doing dumb bs like inserting story arcs.

Basically, he puts out a 7 minute video two or three times a year now. He cares even less than he did before, but for whatever reason refuses to quit.

I stopped caring about the Irate Gamer a long time ago

I feel worthless in all of the ways except for shmupping. But even if I win lunatic mode it will still be worthless skill. I live up to the name "lunatic" at least, thus I came very close to winning.

I can't have nice things because I ruin everything and am also incapable of handling any sustained responsibility that isn't taking care of a dog or obsessively playing a video game.

Maybe in the next life I will be less of a waste of space. I hope I get recycled into something pretty and nice and valuable to people.
