To elaborate, the old design had "crossing lines" to illustrate that the stick figures were in a crosswalk:
In 2000, the standards were updated to remove the crossing lines and instead include an arrow plaque pointing to the actual crosswalk:
But somehow the school, which opened in 2003, ended up with the old signs. If I had to guess, I'd say that someone at the contractor's sign shop probably just had the old silkscreen laying around and used it out of carelessness.

Point out the crossing lines thing to everyone I know and watch them be driven crazy as they start paying attention to something they never even noticed before: Good idea or bad idea?

So apparently I've been awake long enough that I feel like recording myself singing '90s songs poorly and posting them to the internet is a good idea.

In pokemon, if resistances reduce damage by half, and weaknesses double it, technically wouldn't a ROCK/POISON being hit by a FIGHTING attack take 50% more damage, since reducing it by 50% and increasing it by 100% would equal 50% more, instead of 0% as it normally is?
Heh, I went and looked up how a CD is made, and I found a page that's obviously using old sources because they mention the raw audio data being recorded on video tape. I understand why they did that (back in the early 1980s, there was no way to carry around several hundred MB of audio data without using tape, specifically U-matic tape with a PCM adapter), but no one's made either U-matic decks or the PCM adapters in years, and you can get thumb drives that hold several gigabytes at Walmart these days.
I'm bored, so I'm following US 60 through West Virginia on Google Maps. Between Rainelle and Gauley Bridge, some 37 miles according to the Google, there is a whole bunch of steep grades, twisty turns, and not a whole lot else. Until someone built a convenience store along that route a while ago, there were no services at all between Rainelle and the gift shop/rest area at Hawks Nest State Park (going westbound). I don't know how we managed all those years.
