It was a bit better back on TvTropes but gradually got worse here where people were more tolerant of his crap.

Frosty was a good friend of mine and still is. We communicate by email a lot.

I admit he isn't always the most stable, but I honestly don't understand why some of you seem to dislike him so much.

I dunno. I think Frosty is a pretty great person when in a decent mood. It's only his nuttier/more agitated moods that cause trouble.

Well given what I've seen here's my assessment: He acts all nice and cute and even fluffs it up with the whole third-person referring-to-self bit which is fine, to each his own -- but then there's moments out of nowhere (from my perspective) that he just starts ripping into someone.

For one, that really, really stands out in a forum as mellow as this one is. The other is that people see that dramatic shift in personality and that's a huge warning sign which also trips an instinctive "avoid" trigger for most people.

I considered not responding to this, but in the interest of talking this out as a community; I think that's the problem. He took many things very personal, especially this last instance.

Honestly, the whole "dog-puncher" thing was meme-worthy, and still is. Yet, he looked at it as a personal slight and treated it as such, even when many, many people advised he leave it alone.

Darjeeling is one of the more mellow teas, great in the evening if you're studying. My favorite, though, is lapsang souchong because it tastes like gunpowder
