You were always a lot more perceptive and observant than I was, though. I don't tend to notice things, and when I do I'm bad at mentally connecting the dots.
You also underestimate yourself a lot.
Perhaps, and thanks. I wasn't intentionally self-depreciating there, though.
That said, the place has become a mess. Not entirely through its own fault either (a good chunk of the stuff is due to outside pressures), and that is saddening, but communities wilt. It's just what happens.
You're probably right; it's just what happens.
And honestly, I don't think TVT was very well equipped to handle external criticism, be it from trolls or its own paying advertisers. It's the price of insularity.
The only people who haven't disappointed me at least once in a discussion about TVT have been Fouria, who seems to keep things close to his/her vest (no offense)...
None taken. I'm not really all that talkative, I know.
Where TVT is concerned, at least partly it's been a question of my own feelings on the site being very mixed.
The badges are all really ugly. And Bitcoins are generally associated with...
I liked the music lover badge and the aleph-null a lot.
The roses aren't bad, either, and are much better than I could do.
...looking at these again, the descriptions on the police boxes irritate the hell out of me.
I'm kind of bemused that they actually made the red police box badge, and then fucked up the description completely (no, those are not common in Wales, and never have been; they're not even Welsh).
I can definitely understand the sentiment about Slayer. Except for Seasons in the Abyss and Hell Awaits, I never managed to listen to a Slayer album all the way through. I get bored after a few songs.
Can't say I agree about Thrash as a whole. I mean, I was always big into the scene, even if I have drifted away from it as of late. And I still love Megadeth's music even though Dave Mustaine disappoints me because of what he's become.
Never really was a fan of most Deathcore. Also bored me. Plus, I'm not huge on the style of vocals in Deathcore.
Speaking of doom metal, I listened to Clean Hands go Foul by Khanate. I'll talk about it more in depth later when I"m not on a sleep high, but in short it was a fascinating record, especially when compared to Sunn O))) and their style.
Clean Hands Go Foul is most certainly a fascinating record. Not to be horribly obvious, but "Every Goddamned Thing" is just... strange. There are no words.
Oval's first LP is very pretty, and there are some rather interesting glitch elements throughout, but it is rather straightforward. More abstraction and, dare I say it, a modicum of aggression would have done that album good.
I'd kind of like to talk about the stuff that's been happening since I left.
Like, they have badges now. And virtual currency.
I want to be able to talk about that.
I'd rather talk about the P5. I rather like the idea and they've been doing good work (buncha skeevy pages got axed, some were cleaned up, others spared entirely), and it helps that the panel includes Komodin and Meeble.
As for the community...not much has changed, from what I've seen. The forumites are the same as they have been for weeks on end, for the most part. Barely any changes in the ranks, I'd say.
@RolandVerliden: The P5 have been doing some great work, but Discar's constant shaky defences of the Rance franchise are kind of... sad, to be honest. He seems like a good guy with good intentions, but he's letting his personal feelings compromise his judgement, and I seriously question whether he should be part of the team at all because of it. I mean, I can understand liking something that should be cut, and I can understand defending your liking of it, but at some point you have to make concessions for the good of the site, and Discar hasn't been doing that. (Then again, Martello almost certainly went too far in the other direction, but that's a whole other can of worms.)
The other three active members are really great though, especially Meeble. I just hope that Catalogue gets back soon.
In order to hold the title of "Most Worthless" you'd need to earn it. which is counterproductive to holding such a title, thus no one can legally hold the title of "Most Worthless"

That picture makes perfect sense if Vader is using a reverse osmosis filter.
What's this about TVT and bitcoin? I know there's been issues with servers hosting a lot of bitcoins getting broken into, and questions about money laundering, but I'm not sure how all this affects TVT as I haven't been to the forums in quite a while.

I rarely have vitriol about anything in the first place, so it's not too difficult.
I just want to be able to talk about the old site without a repeat of what happened the last time (we all remember the last time, right? right)

Anybody want to quote me above and figure out what's wrong with my forum code? Trying to replicate the dropdown menu.

This was very late but I wanted to respond to that one part.
