  The German school of trance is one of those genres with the potential to be really, really good but, due to its simplicity, also lends itself to some really lazy songwriting. Eurobeat is, of course, infinitely worse, but bad trance is annoying because it is so transparently obvious how it is going to go within the first thirty seconds or so.
  
  Goa trance and psytrance, on the other hand, those are fun. Particularly the really aggro end of psytrance where it begins to bleed over into hardcore and industrial techno, although the really expansive, atmospheric/cinematic stuff can be similarly compelling.
