Literal calm before a storm, just outside Bellefontaine, Ohio

Extremely ugly temporary detour sign assembly on US 33 just past Bellefontaine

Vintage sign for “The Donut Shop” in Russells Point, Ohio

A junction in New Hampshire, Ohio
(This one is incredibly annoying, because it’s the ONLY stoplight on US 33 in the 30 miles or so between Lakeview and St. Marys, and New Hampshire is small enough that it would be extremely cheap and simple to build a bypass route.)

Old Lincoln Highway (US 30 Business Route) in Van Wert, Ohio

Of course I took a photo of the big red fire truck. I am an easily excitable child, after all.

Vintage 4-way traffic beacons!

A cool vintage drive-in theater sign along Old Lincoln Highway (old US 30) between Van Wert and Delphos…“Van–Del”, get it?

Some route markers along Old Lincoln Highway (formerly US 30, present-day State Route 66) in Delphos
(I’m not sure why the text is so garbled. Does the iPhone 14 camera do some kind of AI upscaling when you take a photo with the digital zoom?)

Looking towards new US 30 from old US 30, between Delphos and Cairo.

Vintage sign for “Piper Motor Sales” in Cairo, Ohio

Norton, Ohio…I don’t think the street name signs are supposed to be lying on the ground upside-down like that

Bonus:
I shot a video of a CSX freight train at the Iron Triangle Rail Park in Fostoria, Ohio!
Yes, Fostoria is popular enough with railfans that there’s an entire public park intended for viewing trains.
