In the 2026 Satsuki Sho, Lovcen emerged as the victor after a clean break from the pack at the start of the race. Using this opportunity to take up a frontrunning strategy, Lovcen successfully remained in the lead for the entire race despite a thrilling challenge from Realize Sirius in the final stretch. This is Lovcen’s second GI win in as many weeks, following a victory at the Oka Sho earlier in April. All eyes are on Lovcen as a potential contender for the Japanese Triple Crown later in the year!
