Tonight’s game: The Final Scene (2001)

Nancy Drew is in St. Louis with her friend Maya, who’s about to interview a famous actor backstage at a theater that’s scheduled to be demolished. Maya goes into the dressing room, Nancy hears her scream, and when Nancy busts in, Maya is gone. Nancy immediately receives a threatening call on an internal phone line, leading her (and a theater employee) to conclude that the kidnapper must still be in the building, likely having escaped through one of the several hidden passages that are, I guess, just common knowledge among anybody who’s worked in this theater.
This is a life or death situation! So Nancy does what any good detective would do: Immediately sit and start calling a dozen phone numbers in the hope that someone else will have something useful to tell her.

You actually do have to dial the phone numbers the way you would on a real landline phone, too, including dialing 1 before the area code for a long-distance number and all that. If you gave this game to a kid today, they would be completely lost, because modern cell phones don’t work this way at all.
