It's not like technology had killed hundreds of thousands at the end of a terrible war, scarring the survivors with cancer, and afflicting their children with horrendous birth defects. The way those primitive FUNDIES talked, you'd think the fruits of scientific progress threatened to destroy human civilization and life on earth as we know it.
