The most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia", but only slightly less famous is "Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line"!, followed by "do not invade Russian in the winter" which is equaled only in fame by "do not create a portion of your side as a containment area for bad posting and terrible people!"
