  • Living tissue over endoskeleton.
The majority of people might not agree with disliking Gamzee, but they aren't here, so.
  • There just seems to be a bit of myopia going on. And that kind of bothers me.
  • Living tissue over endoskeleton.
Not everyone likes everything. It's a thread discussing a webcomic on a forum on the internet, don't worry about it.
  • ok

in all of my, admittedly brief, time being interested in homestuck and interacting with many other homestuck fans, gamzee has been a very consistent least favorite.

so i would, in fact, feel quite comfortable saying, based on my personal experience, that gamzee is the least enjoyed homestuck character.

Myopia is better than true perception.

Why must we be slaves to reality?

You keep on quoting this phrase, but it doesn't mean what you think it means.  Vizzini was indeed using the word "Inconceivable" properly; so, by this reference, what you are saying is:

Kexruct repeatedly uses a word.  Kexruct is using the word properly.

The joke is that "inconceivable" to a non-native speaker, seems to mean "infertile"; and Inigo is not a native English speaker.

The joke is not Vizzini's ignorance, but Inigo.

I dunno, I've never met anyone with the virulent hatred towards Gamzee that people here seem to have.
  • no no no, i wasn't  directly trying to reference the princess bride.

i just mean he keeps on saying that we are being myopic whenever we disagree with him on a thing? which would seem to imply that we are all bumbling about blind to the truth of gamzee's okay-itude when we are, in fact, allowed to:

    1. have our own opinions on things

    2. trust our own personal experiences (*provided that they are not proven to be unreliable*)
  • My only real problem with Gamzee's characterization is how far he's drifted from his original character, insanity or no.

I wasn't intending to shoot down anyone's opinion, I just meant that I've noticed a trend of people here assuming that their opinion is common or self evident when it really isn't.

I've been bothered by this for a while, but I've only recently started to talk about it.

and i am saying that i think my opinion is a lot more common than you think it is.

I wasn't intending to shoot down anyone's opinion

also if this is the case, you really need to work on your tone more.

I never said it was an uncommon opinion, just not a majority one.

    *sigh*

BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING

THAT TWIST was so DELICIOUSLY TWISTY
  • Not a hybrid rabbit-skink spirit
    Well

    that was pretty cool
  • More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
Aranea is the real Mindfang, huh? :o Cool!!! :D
  • Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
Alright, the part where John screams at Caliborn "I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU" was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
...I legitimately did not see that coming.

Not that, you silly person! Those are clever, though.

Remember how many plot holes Problem Sleuth had? Remember how Problem Sleuth was amazing so it didn't matter? This is very important.
To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of Problem Sleuth by the end because the pacing near the end just dragged on.

I got into Problem Sleuth after it had been complete, I think pacing issues are harder to notice here as one is free to power through at their leisure.

    same.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Same, although I will admit that I found the pacing strange in places regardless.

Well, I powered through at my leisure and
still felt that Demonhead Mobster Kingpin was poorly paced.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
^ Yes, that is the section that I was thinking of. How much of the weird stop-start quality was intentional, I do not know, but it was definitely tiring in places.
  • It prolly would have irritated me if it weren't for the fact that it seems to run well with my naturally rambling and tangential thought processes.

As it was i found it immensely entertaining.

Problem Sleuth himself writes a Rude Note to the boss, complaining that he spent almost half the game battling him. ^_^

    “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
^^ I didn't have a problem with the digressions at all, but with the pace of the main plot itself at that juncture. It felt, well, like an interminable final boss fight. Or at least that's how I think such things feel, given that I do not play such games with any frequency.
  • More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
That was an especially, abnormally long final boss. ^_^ *has beaten a lot of 'long' final bosses in RPGs*
  • Not a hybrid rabbit-skink spirit
Alright so I think it's safe to say that

Aranea has lost her goddamn mind what the fuck is she thinking

creating a new alpha? i mean really this shit is bananas

i think you missed the important details

namely shello, twerket and Irons are heating up as we speak!

It is very bananas. ^_^ This is gonna be literally the best story ever when it's done.

Regardless of how this turns out, this plot thread is going to be awesome.

    Thank you, Based Huss.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Also, a brief aside, but I love how the goals of both Serkets boil down to incredibly similar things despite their very different personalities. That they both happen to be noble goals with troubling undertones is even better.
  • THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
I've been wondering recently if the key to getting all this to work involves the destruction of paradox space itself. The Condesce seemingly wants a bad future where she rules with the same iron fist she used on the Troll universe; Vriska and Tavros (and friends) have already carved a huge circle into the Furthest Ring; and now Aranea wants to keep all this from happening in the first place, somehow.

At some point, all of these stable time loops are going to get their strings pulled.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
You forgot about John gaining the power to already be there and the author literally getting killed.
